Refurbished metal detectors

Author: Office

Metal detectors became the new craze sometimes after the World War II, when hundreds of thousands surplus former mine sweepers were sold to private people. Just a few other companies were manufacturing metal detectors at that time, and at a low rate, therefore this flooding of the market naturally brought a surge in popularity. Sturdy military metal detectors were used to go treasure hunting and a new movement was born: the relic hunters.
This trend did not diminish since that time, there are clubs, communities, organizations, hobby associations and other attempts to further this leisure pursuit, which some have turned into a lucrative pastime. Although there are plenty of metal detectors available, with price ranges from around $100 to up to a couple of thousand, some gadgets are better and more powerful than others. Furthermore, a beginner is unlikely to spend over two thousand bucks on a top of the line metal detector, just to find out if this is something he likes to do or not. Other people are seasoned treasure hunters, but do not have the financing to dish out for a high power, high quality unit, but their current metal detector does not meet the necessary standards for his or her elevated expertise.
The solution is to purchase a refurbished metal detector. Many manufacturers, but also professional stores, online and offline, offer refurbished metal detectors, which are as good as new, but at a fraction of the price of a new unit.
For instance, there are demonstration models, which have been displayed and used to demonstrate functionality at metal detector stores. These units are only slightly used, perhaps just been on display, are checked by the manufacturer or an authorized service branch and offered with full warranties.
Closeout models are being sometimes sold at bargain prices. This happens rarely, but some manufacturers decide to improve a model and the older model's stock is being sold new for a lower price.
Some metal detectors get damaged in transport, get some scratches or a knob gets loose, these are then repaired, if need be, and sold as refurbished units, maybe as units with a slight damage, like the exterior blemish, scratch or similar. These units are sold really cheap, have full warranties, except the exchange for a brand new unscratched unit, and are refurbished or serviced before the sale.
There are also units available, which have been pre-owned and traded in, when the former owner bought a new metal detector. Such units are being fully serviced and refurbished, tested extensively and sold with limited warranty.
